| "Respect for the sea, and its inhabitants, is enforced to all Solomon Islanders. The sea is a main source that provides us with food and it is also the element that can destroy our villages. Many people have underestimated the power of the sea, to detrimental consequences. Elders are always reminding the young ones that their relationship with the sea will be a key to their life for all their years. Dolphins are very intelligent animals and as such have developed a strong bond with the people of the coasts. There are many legends still told today that involve people lost at sea being rescued by the dolphins and safely returned to their homes. Dolphins continue to be an honoured symbol of life for my people."
