This piece represents the creation of traditional Solomon Island music. Our harmonies come from the sounds that are produced by the living things in nature. In the past, my ancestors composed songs and lyrics based on significant events in our history. Throughout the years, these tales and songs have been passed from generation to generation. They are still a predominant part of our culture today.
